The Detroit Pistons may have the most unanswered questions in the NBA. They have been rebuilding for a few years now, and it doesn't seem likely that it will get any better for them soon.

Last season, they were lucky to receive the first overall pick in the NBA draft. Cade Cunningham has done an excellent job of demonstrating to the world why he was deserving of the number one pick over the last few months. Unfortunately for the Pistons, not many other players have stepped up in the way that they had hoped, and as a result, they have once again performed like one of the worst teams in the NBA.

Because this team has so many questions, let's look at the three most pressing for the Pistons in the remaining of the 2022 season.

Pistons Questions 2022

3. Who are they looking to get for Jerami Grant?

Many people have wondered who the Pistons will pursue in exchange for Jerami Grant, and it's a difficult question to answer because he's been linked to so many different teams. If they opt to move Grant, they will be losing one of the top scorers in the NBA, which is something they will have to consider. The Pistons already struggle to score the basketball at times and trading their leading scorer isn't going to help. Cade Cunningham will be able to improve and have more opportunities with the ball as a result of this, which should thrill this front office.

The Pistons are rumored to be trading Grant for Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers, which is one of the most common trade suggestions this year. This would be a highly risky move for this Pistons team because, as we saw in Philadelphia, he struggles to score the balls at times, and while being an outstanding defender, you never know when he could give up on a team. If he doesn't love his time in Philadelphia when he has the pieces in place to win an NBA title, there's a strong possibility he won't enjoy his time in Detroit when his team has only won 10 of their first 42 games.

Detroit needs to be very wise and cautious about who they trade Grant for because if they don't receive the right return, it might leave them in an even worse situation than they are in now.

2. Are they satisfied with how the rebuild is going?

From the outside looking in, it's difficult to say whether the Pistons are satisfied with how their rebuild process is progressing. This season, they've had some players step up, including rookie standout Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey, and others who have played well in their minutes.

It's difficult to say that this organization is content with how this process is going right now, but that might all change in a few months if they decide to trade Grant and get the proper return. It's to be expected that they will get a huge return, and if they can accomplish that while also bringing in the right players to assist this team, they should be quite confident moving ahead.

1. How much longer is this process going to take?

With how bad the Pistons have looked so far this season, it's difficult to say that they're pleased with how their rebuilding process is progressing. They have the NBA's second-worst record, and there is no way they can contend in the foreseeable future. Add in the news that Jerami Grant will be traded, and it's clear that the rebuilding process will take much longer than it did at the start of the season.

The current Pistons roster should provide hope to some of their fans. Many of their players will be traded before the deadline this year, including Grant, who will receive a large return and should help speed up the process a little. They also have players like Kelly Olynyk, Cory Joseph, and a few others who will be dealt before the deadline and may potentially return a solid player who will help them fit in better with this team than what the others were able to do previously.

Because the rebuild process has been ongoing for several seasons, it's difficult to say how much longer it will take. They must do a better job of going out and getting young players who can make an immediate impact and assist Cade Cunningham and others in bringing this team to where they want it to be sooner rather than later.

Detroit must be careful with what they decide to do. It could make this process much easier if they make the correct decisions at the deadline.
