The PGA Tour was hit with some sad news on Wednesday. Three-time winner Bart Bryant passed away on Tuesday in a car crash at just 59-years-old.

PGA commissioner Jay Monahan confirmed the news with a heartfelt statement. Via TMZ Sports:

“The PGA TOUR is saddened by the tragic passing of Bart Bryant and our hearts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.”

Bryant became a pro in 1986 but dealt with a flurry of injuries in his career. He finally won his first title in 2004 at the Valero Open then also captured titles at the Memorial Tournament and the Tour Championship in 2005. He even beat Tiger Woods in the latter.

Bart Bryant's brother Brad was also a member of the PGA Tour. Truly a golf family. Bryant was born in Texas in 1962 and went on to have a lengthy career in the sport. Aside from winning three PGA titles, he won the Dicks Sporting Goods invitationals in 2013 and 2018.

It's always sad when someone passes away in a car accident and we give our thoughts and prayers to Bart Bryant's family. He is survived by his wife Donna, two daughters, brother, and stepchildren. Bryant's first wife, Cathy, died in 2017 due to brain cancer.

RIP.
