The San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver Deebo Samuel have had an interesting off-season, to say the least. After being one of the most utilized players in the NFL last season, Samuel is in search of a new contract.

With reports of an apparent trade request, and dysfunction between Samuel and the 49ers, many believed he could have been moved this off-season.

While that is still a possibility, there is also a chance that the two sides can reach a new agreement. In a recent video posted by Samuels' trainer, it seems like this deal could be coming sooner rather than later.

“He about to get paid”, are the words said by Samuel’s trainer. This simple sentence should excite 49ers fans everywhere.

Coming off of the season that Deebo Samuel just had, his search for a new contract is warranted. The 26-year-old was dominant in all areas of the game. He also played a major role in the success of their offense.

In 16 games last season, Samuel unlocked a new level of his game. He set career highs across the board and was utilized both as a receiver and a runner.

Samuel recorded 77 receptions, 1,405 receiving yards, and six touchdowns. He also averaged 18.2 yards per reception, the most in the NFL.

After the 49ers running back group was hit with injuries, Samuel began to work out of the backfield. Even with the move, Samuel was a massive threat to opposing defenses. He rushed for 365 yards and eight touchdowns on just 59 carries.

As Deebo Samuel enters year four, the 49ers will hope to lock him in for the foreseeable future. He has already separated himself from many of the game's other receiving talent. With second-year quarterback Trey Lance expected to become the new starter in San Francisco, having Samuel there will help him immensely.
