If you ask general manager John Lynch, he would like to remain with the San Francisco 49ers for the long haul. Although Lynch's contract situation with the surging NFC West franchise remains a bit up in the air at the moment, the former NFL standout absolutely loves what is happening in San Francisco these days and definitely wants to remain a part of the fun for the foreseeable future.

“I don’t know if I’m going to be a lifer at this thing, but I love what we’re doing (with the 49ers),” Lynch recently told NBC Sports Bay Area. “I love coming to work each and every day, and I think there’s some good news on the horizon. Jed and the York family have been tremendous to me. Hopefully, we have some good news here soon.”

It appears as though everyone within the 49ers organization is on the same page as Lynch hinted that the two sides are closing in on a contract extension to keep him with the 49ers moving forward.

“Jed, true to his word, we picked it back up,” Lynch said on Tuesday morning during an appearance on the Murph & Mac Show. “I can tell you, I think there’s some good news around the corner.”

Of course, Lynch's 49ers will enter the upcoming 2020 campaign as the defending NFC Champions after making a run to the Super Bowl in 2019. Although coming up short against the eventual champion Kansas City Chiefs in the end, the 49ers also won a NFC Championship before winning not one but two postseason games.
