The San Francisco 49ers released their final injury report prior to their Week 1 bout against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On the report, rookie Nick Bosa is listed in the “questionable” category due to his ankle injury.

Throughout this week, Bosa has been able to practice in limited fashion after missing nearly a month with an ankle sprain. All signs point to the rookie making his NFL debut on Sunday but, the 49ers haven't made it official just yet.

San Francisco used the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft to select the pass-rushing specialist out of Ohio State. When the 49ers selected him, they knew there could be injury woes that follow Bosa in his career.

In his final season in college, the defensive end sustained a “core” injury that caused him to miss the majority of the 2018 season. The rookie's stay in San Francisco didn't get off to much of a better start with him suffering a hamstring injury that sidelined him until training camp.

Now, an ankle injury is the only thing standing between Bosa and his first start in the NFL. The 49ers are eager to get their first-round pick on the field to improve their pass rush in 2019.

Last season, the Niners struggled to get to the quarterback with just 37 sacks (tied for eight-least in the NFL). As a result, the team acquired Dee Ford via trade and paired him with Bosa.

The new pass-rushing duo in the Golden Gate City is hoping to take the field together on Sunday against a Tampa Bay team that allowed 41 sacks in 2018.
