It's no secret that Robbie Gould no longer wants to be in San Francisco, but the 49ers have not given in to his desire to be traded. As a result, the kicker is not guaranteeing that he will be at training camp later this month.

“I’m not going to commit to making any decision right now … I don’t really have a plan right now,” Gould said, according to Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News. “Obvious there is a deadline and I don’t have to make any decisions anytime soon. . . . The deadline to sign a long-term contract is Monday, and the rest of that [potential holdout] is up to me.”

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said earlier this offseason that he won't have any problem with Gould skipping training camp, as he simply loves having him on the team and hopes to have him on board by time the regular season begins.

“We love having him around. But, I understand how he feels and what’s going on,” Shanahan said back on June 11. “If (reporting Week 1) is the way he would like to do it, no problem with that at all. We’d always rather it be perfect the way we want it, but if he doesn’t want to show up until Week 1, it is what it is.”

Gould has a home in Chicago and has been spending the offseason there with his wife and three kids.

The 36-year-old spent the first 11 years of his NFL career with the Bears from 2015 through 2015, making a Pro Bowl and earning a First-Team All-Pro selection back in 2006. He then spent one season with the New York Giants in 2016 before joining the Niners in 2017.
