The Chicago Bulls have been hit with COVID-19 worse than any other team since the virus started. They now have nine players under COVID-19 protocols, including stars Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan.

It is questionable why the NBA has not done anything to stop this outbreak and allow the Bulls to take a breather at this moment. According to the league officials, their biggest concern is to keep their players healthy, and not keeping your players healthy away from a virus that has killed many and stopped the whole world for nearly two years isn't protecting your players. At the end of the day, the NBA has a business to run and that's exactly what the league is doing. NBA commissioner Adam Silver and company are not keeping their players safe, and unless they allow the Bulls a week or two to get healthy, they are failing the team as well.

Silver has to step in at this point and say that the Bulls cannot play a game for one to two weeks. If he doesn't, there are going to be continuous outbreaks, not only with the Bulls but with other organizations. If one other player from a different team catches the virus from somebody on the Bulls, a different outbreak will start with another team. It's going to be a repeating cycle and unless Silver does not want to get this straightened out anytime soon, he needs to stop it.

Not only is this unfair to the Bulls, but it's also unfair to the teams that they are playing against because now, they are all at risk as well. There's a simple solution for what Silver needs to do and that's just to simply stop the Bulls' season for a week or two until everybody has tested negative and taken the correct precautions to make sure that the virus is no longer in the organization.

It's unfortunate for the Bulls because before the outbreak, they were playing like arguably the best team in the Eastern Conference. DeRozan and LaVine were playing at an MVP-type of level as they were both averaging over 25 points per game. The Bulls were fun to watch once again but unfortunately, that has all been taken away now for who-knows-how-long because the league cannot make a decision on what to do and to stop them from playing.

Once the Bulls get back and fully healthy, whenever that may be, they're going to continue to show that they can compete with anybody in the NBA. They will continue to be a major problem for teams in the Eastern Conference, especially in the postseason.

Times are exciting for the Bulls and this is just an unfortunate bump in the road and hopefully, the NBA is going to step in soon to make sure that this does not keep happening and that the Bulls can get the proper rest that they clearly need.
