As you may or may not know, New Japan Wrestling doesn't have a women's division. While they do work closely with Stardom and have had women's championship matches on shows they have promoted before, their co-promotion with AEW presented fans in Japan with a rare opportunity to see Thunder Rosa go against one of her toughest opponents yet in Toni Storm, who has her own experience wrestling in Stardom from her pre-WWE run.

Fortunately, Rosa did not disappoint, as she turned in a hard-hitting affair the likes of which you seldom see in a professional wrestling match regardless of who is in the ring.

Taking to the ring in one of her signature Pay-Per-View outfits, Rosa came out of the gates hot, hitting Storm repeatedly with her hard chops, innovative holds, and more than a few new moves borrowed in loving tribute to her mentor Dustin Rhodes. While Storm got in some moves too, most notably a vicious german suplex on the edge of the ring that looked incredibly painful, Rosa ultimately pulled out the win with a Final Wreckoning, the long-time finisher of the performer formerly known as Golddust.

Goodness, no wonder Storm couldn't get out of that one; you could feel that hit through the television screen.

With another win on her record, Thunder Rosa has now taken care of four of the toughest competitors in AEW in Storm, Britt Baker, Serena Deeb, and Nyla Rose, with only so many performers left on the roster in her wake. A great introduction to the women's division for NJPW fans indeed.
