The Alabama Crimson Tide will be without their top receiver next year, and it isn't because of any updates on his recent ACL injury.

Jameson Williams took to Instagram Thursday afternoon to announce that he will be taking his talents to the NFL.

He posted a highlight reel of his time as a wide receiver throughout his three years in college, which ended with the announcement. It was only visible for a couple of seconds and read:

“First – Thank God for making all this possible

Mom, Dad, my brothers and my sister…Thank you for everything. Y'all always have my back since day 1 and wouldn't be here without y'all.

Coach Saban and Coach Wiggins – Thank you for believing in me and the opportunity to show what I can do

My brothers, we been thru it all. Wish it could have ended differently but it's nothing but up from here

Bama fans, thank y'all for welcoming me and making Tuscaloosa home for me and my family

With all that being said, I am starting the next chapter and taking my talents to the 2022 NFL Draft. Roll Tide”

This is great news for the promising young receiver, especially after the brutal injury he suffered in the final game of the season. Williams tore his ACL early on in the second quarter of Alabama's heartbreaking loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in the CFP championship.

Fortunately for Williams, scouts and the entire NFL have been able to see what he is capable of before his injury. He is expected to officially begin his road to recovery and undergo surgery within the next week or so, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.

The 2022 NFL Draft will take place on April 28.
