Houston Astros star Jose Altuve has been the driving force for the Houston Astros' success in recent years. His stellar hitting and fielding has helped propel the team to multiple deep post-season runs and a championship to boot. Now, the Venezuelan slugger has hit yet another milestone for the team.

In Game 4 of their World Series against the Atlanta Braves, Altuve hit a home run deep into center field against pitcher Kyle Wright. This marked the Astros second baseman's 23rd career post-season HR, surpassing New York Yankees legend Bernie Williams at second place. (via MLB Stats)

With the Astros down 1 – 2 in the series, they badly need a win here to avoid falling into a dangerous 1 – 3 hole. While Altuve and co. have came back to tie a 0 – 3 series before, Altuve is determined to not go through that gauntlet again. His home run hit put the Astros up 2 – 0 at the top of the fourth, as the defense (led by the the surprise starter Zack Greinke) has held the Braves to zero runs so far.

By the way things are going for Altuve, it looks like he's ready to go for that number one spot soon. He actually tied Williams in Game 2 in a comeback performance, and he had this to say about tying the Yankees legend.

“To hit 22 homers in playoffs and tie him … it means a lot to me,” Altuve said. “It makes me keep going out there, hitting homers to help my team, to keep accomplishing things like this.”

This certainly won't be the last time Altuve will break records for the Astros. Hopefully, this insane individual performance from Jose Altuve won't go to waste, and he can lead the Astros to another World Series win.
