Barcelona orchestrated arguably its most convincing performance of the Xavi Hernandez managerial era on La Liga matchday 29, as it clinched a 4-0 win against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Much was expected out of Barca heading into this contest not only because of its recent promising form but also due to the fact that the Catalan side had gone six straight matches without a win over Real Madrid in all competitions. In the end, Barca had standout performers across the board over the course of the fixture, from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang notching two goals and one assist to Sergio Busquets turning back the clock with a vintage showing in the midfield.

After the match, Xavi touched on the performance from his side, where he did note that his squad could have added more goals to the scoreboard.

“We played a spectacular game and I think we could have scored more goals,” Xavi said. “We played very well and it's a day to enjoy.”

While the likes of Aubameyang and Ferran Torres shined in the match with key goals scored, they did also miss crucial goal-scoring chances. Still, this sure should not mar what turned out to be an El Clasico win to remember for Barca.

The final international break of the season has now come, as Barcelona will return to La Liga play with a home league fixture against Sevilla on April 3.
