Chicago Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky has developed quite a rapport with wide receiver Taylor Gabriel. It appears their chemistry has caught the attention of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

Trubisky and Gabriel have made a number of impressive connections this year. According to Adam Hoge of WGN Radio, it only took one to for Belichick to see that these two are the real deal:

“The execution of the play from Trubisky to Gabriel down the sideline, that’s about as good of a throw and catch as I’ve seen all year. The execution was like a 99 out of a 100.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Belichick's comments. Trubisky and Gabriel have seemingly been on the same page all year.

The Bears signed Gabriel as a free agent last season in an effort to revamp their offense. He has finally started to etch out a tremendous role for himself across wide receiver Allen Robinson. Although he is technically considered the No. 2 wideout in the offense, he has been the top option in the passing game. Gabriel has registered a team-high 27 catches for 303 yards and two touchdowns through the first six games of the year.

Gabriel's impact also goes beyond the stat sheet. His skill set as a speedster gives the Bears offense an explosive component. This has become extremely evident over the last two weeks following back-to-back 100-yard games. Chicago will need all the firepower they can get as they prepare to host a high-powered Patriots offense. Belichick's comments indicate that Gabriel may be heavily featured in the defensive game plan.
