Chicago Bears Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher is one of the best players in team history, and he's really excited about the direction this new-look Bears team is headed. Urlacher said on The Rich Eisen Show that even though the team didn't finish the season the way they wanted to, he still thinks the outlook is bright:

“Awesome,” Urlacher said about Chicago's 2018 season to the The Rich Eisen Show. “It didn't end the way we wanted it to, but I'm just happy with where we're going. They've got the right coach in there. Great players. I was a captain at the Pro Bowl and the Bears had seven guys at the Pro Bowl. It was a fun week for me. When I was at the NFL Honors coach Nagy got Coach of the Year. I'm just real excited with the direction they are going right now.”

One of the reasons for the Bears' success was the coaching of first-year head man Matt Nagy. He put in excellent game plans week in and week out to get the most out of young quarterback Mitch Trubisky, and that is why they blew away expectations. Chicago's elite defense also played a huge role.

This Chicago squad was the first really good once since Urlacher decided to hang up the cleats, and it has to feel good for him that his beloved Bears finally have the team going in the right direction.

If Trubisky and the rest of the team continue to take steps forward this offseason, big things are ahead.
