The Chicago Bears have made some major moves this offseason. However, their success in the 2018 NFL season will rely on quarterback Mitchell Trubisky thus far.

Fortunately, it appears Trubisky has managed to turn some heads in practice. Backup quarterback Chase Daniel admitted during an appearance on 670 The Score in Chicago that he is impressed with his development thus far:

“To be able to see him grow in the offense, even in just eight weeks, has been tremendous,” Daniel said.

Daniel's comments certainly carry plenty of weight considering how long he has been in the NFL. He has served as a backup to some of the most elite quarterbacks in this league such as Drew Brees and Alex Smith. That said, his praise is hopefully a promising sign of what is to come.

Chicago did all it could to help smoothen the transition for Trubisky into his second year. Aside from a viable mentor in Daniel, the Bears also shook things up with a new coaching staff. This was followed up by the additions of wide receiver Allen Robinson and tight end Trey Burton. Not to mention the emergence of their promising backfield tandem of Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen should take some pressure of Trubisky.

That said, the Bears are hoping to turn things around immediately, at least from an offensive standpoint. Trubisky endured a tough rookie campaign after he was selected with the second overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He will need to show some major signs of improvement if Chicago is going to avoid another lackluster year.
