After leading the Chicago Bears to a Thanksgiving victory over the Detroit Lions, it appears quarterback Chase Daniel will get his opportunity to shine once again.

The Bears' backup quarterback is expected to get another start under center after Mitchell Trubisky was listed as doubtful for the Week 13 matchup against the New York Giants, according to Michael David Smith of ProFootball Talk.

Daniel made his first start of the season against the Lions and wasn't all that bad in leading Chicago to its eighth victory of the year. He went 27 of 37 for 230 yards and one touchdown, and most importantly, he didn't commit a single turnover on the day.

Daniel's experience should be a nice boost for the Bears in another challenging road game, with the Giants winning two of their last three games overall.

For Matt Nagy's team to be a true Super Bowl contender, they will obviously need Trubisky fully healthy down the stretch. The second-year quarterback has compiled 2,469 passing yards this season while sporting a 65.4 percent completion percentage. He's also thrown for 20 touchdowns, which easily surpassed his seven passing TDs from a season ago.

Following the trip to New York to take on the Giants, the Bears will return home for two crucial games against the Los Angeles Rams and Green Bay Packers. Chicago will finish up the regular season with road trips to San Francisco and Minnesota.

The Bears currently lead the way in the NFC North due to their five-game winning streak, with Minnesota (6-4-1) serving as the primary threat to a division title.
