The Chicago Bears fired general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy on Monday after a disappointing 6-11 season. The Bears are now getting to work trying to find their replacements, with a number of names for both positions being reported. Per NFL Media's Tom Pelissero, one notable interview on the way is with Brian Flores, who was just fired by the Miami Dolphins in a major surprise.

Flores is expected to be a hot coaching candidate after his surprise ouster from the Dolphins, who cited relationship issues as a reason for his dismissal. This is the first confirmed interview for Flores.

The former Dolphins coach went 24-25 in three seasons in Miami, failing to make the playoffs in all three seasons. However, they went 10-6 in 2020 and went 9-8 in 2021, just missing the playoffs after starting 1-7.

Flores is just one of a number of head coaching candidates the Bears have already reached out to as they look to replace Nagy:

There will sure to be plenty more. Conventional wisdom says a new GM should be hired first, and maybe that still does happen, but the Bears are wasting no time talking to head coaching candidates as well.

While Chicago had a dismal 2021 season, this is still an attractive job given the market and the presence of a potential franchise quarterback in Justin Fields. The youngster out of Ohio State had a tough rookie campaign, but he showed flashes of his immense talent and could wind up being a superstar if he develops.
