The Chicago Bears are already without starting running back David Montgomery because of a knee injury, and now they're likely going to be without Damien Williams for Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers after the Bears placed him on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday.

As noted in The Athletic, vaccinated players need to be asymptomatic and test negative twice at least 24 hours apart to be removed from the list.

Williams has played in recent games without Montgomery in the lineup. This past weekend in the 20-9 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, the veteran running back rushed 16 times for 64 yards and a touchdown. He also caught two passes for 20 yards. The week before that against the Detroit Lions, he had eight carries for 55 yards and a score to go along with two catches for 15 yards.

With the Bears possibly down both Montgomery and Williams, rookie Khalil Herbert is slated for a major workload, making him a guy to pick up on the fantasy football waiver wire if he's still available. Herbert was impressive as well against the Raiders, racking up 75 yards on 18 carries and showing plenty of toughness on his runs.

Chicago is 3-2 on the season, so this matchup against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers is a big one. A Bears victory would make both teams 4-2 on top of the NFC North. This is Justin Fields' first chance to experience the Bears-Packers rivalry, so this should be an exciting game.
