Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet has endeared himself to his new fan base from the moment he was chosen with the team's first selection in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Adding another factoid to the list of things that Bears fans can love about their new tight end, he recently told Bears play-by-play announcer Jeff Joniak that he cried when the team lost Super Bowl XLI to the Indianapolis Colts in 2007.

Now, there's nothing much to be said for a seven-year-old crying at a major loss for their favorite professional team, but it can only further enhance the legend of dedication that Kmet has ahead of his rookie season with Chicago.

There was much promise during that Super Bowl for Chicago fans, especially after returner extraordinare Devin Hester returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown. But the team was limited to just 10 points for the remainder of the contest, allowing Peyton Manning to snag a ring. The Bears have not been back to the final game of the season since the Rex Grossman years.

After having foregone his senior season at Notre Dame to enter the NFL Draft, Kmet accomplished what his seven-year-old self likely dreamed of: being drafted by the Chicago Bears. A two-sport star during his time with the Fighting Irish, the now 6-foot-6, 262-pound Kmet joins a myriad of tight ends on the Chicago roster, hoping to stand out and become a trusted target for either Mitch Trubisky or Nick Foles in 2020.
