Late in the fourth quarter of their 24-17 win versus the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bear's safety Eddie Jackson intercepted Aaron Rodgers, helping to seal the win and ending Rodger's streak of 402 throws without an interception. Chicago celebrated clinching the NFC North, but the victory came at a high cost as Jackson sprained his ankle on the big interception, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

After the game head coach Matt Nagy said that they expect to have a better understanding of Jackson's status in the next few games.

Chicago, 10-4, will face the 3-10 San Francisco 49ers and the 7-6-1 division rival Minnesota Vikings. The Bears will be playing for seeding and will definitely be hoping that their second-year safety will be able to suit up, but it wouldn't be out of the question for the Bears to rest him for the postseason. Jackson has six interceptions on the season and he's returned two of them— and one fumble— for touchdowns.

The Bears have thrived this season because of their defense, for which Jackson plays a critical role, capitalizing on the mistakes that pass rushers like Khalil Mack and Leonard Floyd force quarterbacks to make. Football Outsiders has the Bears ranked as the top run and top pass defense in the league by DVOA.

Jackson's six interceptions is tied for third in the league with Atlanta Falcons safety Damontae Kazee, Xavien Howard of the Miami Dolphins and Jackson's teammate, Kyle Fuller, lead the league with seven interceptions apeice. His two pick-sixes are tied with New York Giants linebacker Alec Ogletree for most in the league this season.
