The National Football League is only a few days removed from a horrifying situation involving Chicago Bears tight end Zach Miller. After being injured over the weekend, it was reported that surgeons were not only trying to save Miller's football career, but his leg. Bears head coach, John Fox, has thankfully updated everyone on what is happening.

By way of ESPN:

“He's progressing well,” John Fox said. “I think he's with his family and there's been a lot of people [who have reached] out from around the league. [There's supposed to have] been some Saints players heading by today, so again, he's progressing well.”

“Not being a doctor, but the feedback I've gotten is the initial concern was the artery and I didn't hear much other than that, so from a prognosis standpoint …” Fox said. “I don't want to delve too deep into specifics, but that was a big concern and they addressed it, and like I said, he's progressing well.”

The outpouring of support sent to the direction of Zach Miller has been the sole silver lining in this otherwise gloomy cloud. If nothing else, this devastating injury is a reminder that these athletic marvels we consume each weekend are as human as we are, even if we sometimes take for granted how insanely gifted they are every Sunday.

Fully expect more news to be dropped as the days go on in regards to this situation. We will do our best to keep you posted on information as it comes to light.
