Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields has had his share of struggles in his debut season, but he has enjoyed the best game of his young career on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. In addition to doing a solid job with his passing, Fields' dynamic running ability has been on full display.

Fields really popped when the Bears needed it most on a fourth-and-1 play in the fourth quarter. The Bears rookie looked dead to rights behind the line of scrimmage, but he escaped and used his legs to get to the end zone:

This kind of play is exactly why the Bears traded up to get Fields in the 2021 NFL Draft. After this run, he went over 100 yards on the day.

Unfortunately for Chicago, Cairo Santos missed the game-tying extra point. The 49ers then immediately responded with a touchdown of their own, with Jimmy Garoppolo doing his best Trey Lance impression and running in his second touchdown of the game.

Even if the Bears lose this game, though, they have to be happy with the performance of Fields in this game. After one of his worst showings against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7, he has responded with his best overall game in this one.
