The Chicago Bears' upcoming Week 12 matchup is looking to be one of the easier games on their schedule as they play the New York Giants. However, there are questions about whether kicker Eddy Pineiro will be able to convert all of his shot attempts or buck to the pressure that's mounting on him lately.

Head coach Matt Nagy believes that his kicker has what it takes to play well against the Giants. According to the Chicago Tribune's Rich Campbell, Nagy believes Pineiro will be able to meet the expectations set on him.

“He’s competitive as hell,” Nagy said of Pineiro. “He wants to make that. He’s mad at himself. We know that. We want him to know that we’ve got confidence in him.

“That’s what we’re working through,” he said. “So now, when we get back out there, he’s going to make them and we’re going to get rolling.”

Pineiro isn't exactly in a great situation at the moment. All of the momentum he got from his hot start to the season has disappeared, missing four of his last seven field-goal attempts.

This poor run of form has put his job security on the line. The Bears have been burned by poor kickers before, and fans would love nothing more than to avoid another disappointing playoff exit that's caused by their kicker.

Nagy is a forgiving coach, though As long as Pineiro shows his hunger to improve, he'll continue to get chances this season. However, he does have to step it up once playoffs come rolling around or he'll be without a job in the offseason.
