Nick Foles knows that things did not go well for Mitchell Trubisky or the Chicago Bears in 2019.

The Chicago Bears quarterback took a rather significant step back from the previous year, throwing for 3,138 yards, 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 63.2 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 83.

Due to Trubisky's lack of improvement since entering the NFL as the Bears' No. 2 overall pick in 2017, Chicago decided to go out and acquire some competition this offseason, swinging a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars for Nick Foles.

Well, that hasn't been sitting well with Trubisky, but the good news is that he is spinning it into a positive:

“It was kind of interesting to me,” said Trubisky, according to Adam Hoge of NBC Sports Chicago. “That's the business that we're in. I think I was pissed off in a good way. I've been motivated ever since.”

Trubisky added that he still feels that the Bears are his team.

Chicago was one of the most disappointing clubs in the NFL this past year, going just 8-8 and missing the playoffs in spite of entering 2019 with Super Bowl aspirations.

That came one season after winning 12 games and capturing the NFC North division title.

A big reason for the Bears' struggles was the squad's poor quarterback play. In Trubisky's defense, it's not like Chicago had a ton of offensive weapons, as its run game also labored and the offensive line wasn't exactly top notch.

However, there is also no doubt that Trubisky has not progressed the way the Bears had been hoping.
