Since the start of the NFL free agency period, the Chicago Bears have been one of the league's most active teams adding pieces to their roster. Much of this has involved the team building around second-year quarterback Mitchell Turbisky as the centerpiece of the offense.

This has built a strong sense of optimism around the organization about what could lie ahead of the franchise in the 2018 campaign. According to Rich Campbell of The Chicago Tribune, Turbisky has voiced that he believes the Bears' various moves in free agency has the team in a “perfect situation.”

“We did really well in free agency. We have to get a couple of other guys back healthy. But I just feel like we’re in a perfect situation to really emerge and have a great year this year.”

There is much reason for Turbisky feeling quite positive about his situation with the front office adding proven talent to areas of need on the roster. This began with adding former Pro Bowl wide receiver Allen Robinson followed by former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Trey Burton, former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Taylor Gabriel along with former Miami Dolphins kicker Cody Parkey.

The addition of Robinson is a significant upgrade to the wide receiver core with a legitimate No. 1 option in the passing game for Turbisky to rely on while Burton could quickly become a promising offensive weapon in an expanded role as he has shown flashes of big-play ability. These added offensive pieces could be a huge benefit to Pro Bowl running back Jordan Howard being a more effective option in the running game.

The 23-year-old is coming off yet another productive campaign ranking third in the league with 1,122 rushing yards, which made him the first player in franchise history to rush for at least 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons. The front office has continued to construct personnel around Turbisky that should lend well to him having the opportunity to take a significant leap forward in 2018 leading the team to success while showcasing why there is much belief in the organization that he can be their long-term answer under center.
