The Chicago Bears recently hired former Kansas City Chiefs assistant general manager Ryan Poles to be their next GM. Along with new head coach Matt Eberflus, Poles was formally introduced as the new general manager in Chicago. Normally, GM introductions are filled with cliches and fluff, but Poles' first public appearance as the Bears GM came with an excellent quote. Poles sent out a warning to the Green Bay Packers and the rest of the NFC North.

New Bears general manager Ryan Poles is certainly not lacking for confidence. Poles feels that Chicago is going to “take over the NFC North” and never give it back, a bold claim considering how the Packers have ruled the division lately.

If Packers star Aaron Rodgers returns, he'll surely have something to say about that. However, Poles and the Bears are well-positioned to make a run at the NFC North title in the future, as they seemingly have their franchise quarterback in Justin Fields.

With the signal-caller in place, Poles and the Bears can focus on building the best team possible around Fields, a team that can challenge the Packers and the rest of the NFC North.

While the brakes may need to be pumped a bit on Ryan Poles' NFC North statement, it's not hard to see a path to success in the future for the Bears.
