Tarik Cohen's hopes of making a comeback in 2022 disappeared in an instant after the former Chicago Bears running back sustained a devastating new injury.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Cohen tore his Achilles during a recent workout, putting a halt on his return bid after missing the whole 2021 campaign due to a knee injury. The one-time Pro Bowler was released by the Bears earlier in the offseason, but he had hopes of getting back to the field in 2022.

According to NFL.com, Cohen was livestreaming his workout on Instagram when the injury happened. He reportedly could be seen grabbing the back of his leg after falling to the floor.

Unfortunately for Tarik Cohen, the injury means he'll likely miss the second straight year after a promising start to his career in 2017.

Drafted in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the sensational running back used a solid rookie season as a springboard on his way to the Pro Bowl as a sophomore. He had another stable run in 2019 where he made 11 starts, but the knee injury in 2020 limited him to just three games before missing the whole 2021 season.

Cohen is now back to zero as he tries to recover from his latest setback. At just 26 years old, though, he has a good chance to return to 100 percent health and play on the football field again.
