The Chicago Bears lost a heartbreaker at home against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Placekicker Eddy Pineiro missed what would have been a game-winning 41-yard field goal against the Bolts (via Eric Rosenthal on Twitter).

Since Pineiro has arrived in Chicago, the kicker has been seen as a source for hope after the Bears' recent troubles at the special teams position. However, despite Pineiro being solid through the 2019 season, a miss with time expiring against the Chargers sealed the Bears' Week 8 fate.

Pineiro previously missed a 33-yard field goal attempt in the first quarter of the game.

Despite Pineiro's two misses on Sunday, he has been the majority source of the Bears' offense—an anemic attack that struggled all day in the red zone. Pineiro made three field goals on the day—all from 19 to 25 yards in the second quarter alone. However, Pineiro could not muster the strength to kick the game-winning one today against L.A.
