The Cincinnati Bengals offense has struggled over the last couple of weeks. Fortunately, it appears help is on the way in the form of wide receiver A.J. Green.

Green has been sidelined for the past two games due to a toe injury. According to Paul Dehner of the Cincinnati Enquirer, head coach Marvin Lewis is optimistic about his return in Week 12:

“He’s ready to get back to work,” Lewis said. “If he feels good enough to go and we judge him good enough by our eyes, he’ll be good to go.”

This is certainly an encouraging update for Green. His absence has been sorely missed by the Bengals' offense. His return gives them a solid chance of getting back into the win column versus the Cleveland Browns.

Green has been one of the NFL's elite wideouts for nearly the past decade. His consistency and reliability have made him a safety net for quarterback Andy Dalton. This could be why Dalton and the Bengals offense as a whole have struggled mightily over the last two games.

Green's absence also had an impact on the production of running back Joe Mixon and wide receiver Tyler Boyd. Mixon and Boyd have proven to be explosive playmakers alongside the veteran. However, it is clearly much more difficult for them to produce when opposing defenses do not have Green to worry about.

Fortunately, it appears the Bengals will finally be at full strength this week against the Browns. The timing certainly cannot be better with Cincinnati in the thick of a heated AFC North Division as well as the Wild Card race.
