The Cincinnati Bengals just began their training camp but they have already suffered an injury scare to one of their crucial players. A.J. Green was seen carted off after suffering an injury to his lower leg.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, A.J. Green suffered a sprained ankle in training camp. For now, that is the initial diagnosis for Green but he will receive an MRI on his left ankle to confirm it.

When Green suffered the injury, the veteran wideout immediately was visibly upset as he knew something happened. Then, some players helped him over to the cart and Green was taken off of the practice field.

It's sad to see as Green suffered a toe injury in 2018 that cost him seven games. Over the past few seasons, injuries have started to plague Green as he has missed 13 games in the last three seasons.

Green was expected to be ready to go for training camp as he returned from his toe injury. The expectations are high for this Bengals offense with Zac Taylor coming in as head coach with all of the offensive weapons.

Green turns 31 in three days but he still figures to be the top wideout in the Bengals offense. After all, Green has had six 1,000 yard seasons in his eight seasons in the NFL. Plus the emergences of Tyler Boyd and Joe Mixon have fans filled with optimism in 2019.

If it is an ankle sprain, Green will likely miss the entire preseason and will aim to be back in time for the regular season. We'll know more information after the Bengals wideout undergoes his MRI. Currently, it looks like the Bengals dodged a bullet with Green avoiding a season-ending injury.
