It's a new era with the Cincinnati Bengals moving on from Marvin Lewis this offseason for a younger Zac Taylor and Carlos Dunlap who has been with the team for ten years has taken notice. Last year Dunlap noted that under Lewis the team was doing the same thing over and over and the results weren't changing.

“I can tell you we don't have too many of the same things [anymore] and I've been here 10 years,” Dunlap said via ESPN. “Last year wasn't our best foot [forward], so if people think we're going to come out like last year, they've got another thing coming.”

A lot of the issues for the Bengals last year involved the effort of the team. It was clear just a few games in that the team had quit and the effort didn't get better during the season.

Under Taylor, there seems to be a new fire in the team, and as Dunlap points out, he expects the team is going to come out stronger this year.

Star wideout AJ Green also notices that Taylor is in the offensive meeting rooms more and that is something he is getting used to.

“It’s different to have your head coach be in the offensive meeting room going through every play, every detail to every guy, telling them why they need to run this way or what this concept is,” Green said. “It's just a little different, but it's fun. It's awesome because he's so smart, he's so detailed.”

This team still might not have a lot of elite talent but it appears the effort is going to be there this year for the Bengals.
