Cincinnati Bengals cornerback William Jackson is expected to miss “at least a few weeks” due to a shoulder injury, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

This is just the latest injury for the depleted Bengals secondary, as fellow cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick is currently sidelined with a knee issue.

Through six games this season, Jackson has logged 12 tackles, an interception, and a couple of passes defended.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Houston, was originally selected by Cincinnati in the first round (24th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He missed his entire rookie campaign due to a torn pectoral muscle. He made his debut in 2017, playing in 15 contests and registering 25 tackles, a sack, a pick, 14 passes defended and a defensive touchdown.

Jackson then played in all 16 games last season, recording 41 tackles and 13 passes defended.

The Bengals have gotten off to an 0-6 start this year, good for the worst record in the league.

Four of Cincinnati's six losses have come by one possession, with the Bengals most recently losing to the Baltimore Ravens by a score of 23-17 this past Sunday.

The fact that Cincinnati has lost so many close games has added to the frustration in Zac Taylor's first year as head coach.

The Bengals are well on their way to missing the playoffs for the fourth straight year, which comes on the heels of a stretch of five consecutive postseason appearances, all of which ended without a win.

Cincinnati will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
