Never in their wildest dreams did Cincinnati Bengals fans imagine their team playing in the Super Bowl this season. With a second-year quarterback in Joe Burrow and a rookie lead receiver in Ja'Marr Chase, a lot had to go right for their team to put it all together. Head coach Zac Taylor is the man who helped put it all together.

The 38-year-old head coach has built something in Cincinnati in his three seasons at the helm, going from a 2-14 team that seemed rudderless back in 2019, to one of the most promising young squads already punching above their weight class.

Because of this, the Bengals are reportedly ready to bring out their checkbook. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Zac Taylor is about to make bank after what has been a fairytale season for Cincinnati.

Via Rapoport:

“I'm told his representation Bob LaMonte and the Bengals are going to sit down after the season and begin to hammer out what is no doubt going to be a lucrative contract extension to give him the raise of course he so richly deserves. It is not just him, also his assistants, including offensive coordinator Brian Callahan .. They already have received deals.”

Zac Taylor is about to get his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. But whether this story has a happy ending for Joe Burrow and the Bengals remains to be seen.
