It did not take long for the Cincinnati Bengals to find their next head coach in Zac Taylor. It appears he will hold many of the responsibilities on offense as expected.

It is no secret that the Bengals have made some significant changes to the coaching staff. According to Richard Skinner of WKRC-TV, Taylor will call the offense moving forward:

Zac Taylor just said in one-on-one interviews with TV that he will call play for Bengals

The update should come as no surprise. Taylor is a prime example of the league's new trend of hiring young, offensive-minded coaches. It is safe to say that Taylor fits the mold at just 35 years of age.

Taylor has certainly come a long way in just a short amount of time. He spent the last two seasons as part of the Los Angeles Rams' resurgence on offense. He started off last year as an assistant wide receivers coach before he was promoted to quarterbacks coach for the 2018 campaign. It is safe to say that they were some quality years spent under head coach Sean McVay, who has since been the sole reason for the NFL's new coaching trend.

Regardless, there is no question that Taylor will have his hands full trying to get Cincinnati back into playoff contention. Fortunately, he will have the benefit of taking over an offense that already boasts some serious star power. Although the jury is still out on quarterback Andy Dalton, players like wide receiver A.J. Green and running back Joe Mixon should help smoothen the transition for Taylor.
