Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver A.J. Green is one of the most interesting impending free agents in the NFL.

We all know that when Green is healthy, he is one of the league's most dynamic wide receivers, as evidenced by the fact that he made the Pro Bowl in each of his first seven seasons between 2011 and 2017.

However, over the last couple of years, Green has been stunted due to injuries. He played in just nine games in 2018 due to toe issues, and this past season, the veteran did not play at all as a result of an ankle injury.

But none of that may even matter when it comes to Green talking to other teams in free agency.

Why? Because the Cincinnati Bengals may not let him walk.

Anthony Treash of Pro Football Focus doesn't think the Bengals will allow Green to sign elsewhere in free agency, noting that they probably would have dealt him at the Week 8 trade deadline if they planned on losing him.

This is rather consistent with recent chatter that has stated that Green will probably remain in Cincinnati, and Green said multiple times in 2019 that he wanted to stay with the Bengals going forward.

It's hard to imagine why a rebuilding team like Cincy would want to re-sign a 31-year-old wide out who has barely even played over the last couple of seasons, but perhaps Green will give the Bengals a hometown discount.

Whatever the case may be, it's looking more and more like Green won't really be all that available once free agency kicks off in March.
