Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase summed up the team's pain in one word after their heartbreaking 23-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl 56.

On Twitter, Chase didn't have to write a lot to let everyone know how painful the loss was. After all, they were so close to winning it all until a late collapse in the game. The 21-year-old simply said: “Damn.”

The frustration was obvious on that tweet, but who can blame him and the Bengals? Cincinnati was leading 20-16 entering the fourth quarter, with the momentum clearly in their favor. Unfortunately, they are unable to get anything going offensively in the final period as the Rams defense made life hard for Burrow and company.

For what it's worth, however, the Bengals can hold their heads high and be proud of what they have accomplished as a team in the 2021 season despite low expectations on them heading to the campaign. They were able to exceed all those and more, establishing themselves as a powerhouse who should be in the playoffs for the years to come.

Ja'Marr Chase, Joe Burrow and the rest of the Bengals have also proven that they should no longer be counted our and overlooked in the AFC after beating the likes of the Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs on their way to the Super Bowl.

While they failed to complete the job this time, they should be able to get more opportunities in the future.
