The 2017 NFL season has gotten off to a slow start for the Cincinnati Bengals. The once-promising team led by Andy Dalton fell flat in Week 1 as they were crushed by the division rival Baltimore Ravens, 20-0.

Fortunately for Cincinnati, some help may be on the way for their Week 2 clash with the Houston Texans. Rookie wideout John Ross is expected to make his NFL debut giving Dalton another reliable option downfield along with A.J. Green, via ESPN.

Bengals rookie wide receiver John Ross will likely make his season debut against the Houston Texans on Thursday night, a source told ESPN's Josina Anderson.

Before having set foot on the gridiron in the NFL, Ross is already considered to be one of the fastest players in the league. The Washington product put his blazing speed on display during the NFL Combine setting the record for the fastest 40-yard dash time at 4.22.

With a player that can create separation with incredible speed, Dalton will have a potentially lethal weapon at his disposal in the passing game and possibly give the offense some life in Week 2.

However, if Dalton fails to utilize the dynamic duo of Green and Ross, the veteran quarterback may be headed for the bench if the Bengals suffer another loss.
