After he was waived by the Atlanta Falcons, defensive end Takk McKinley was picked up by the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals were hoping that a change of scenery and a fresh start would be exactly what McKinley needed to turn his career around.

However, McKinley failed his physical with the Bengals and was waived on Tuesday.

The Falcons drafted Takk McKinley with the 26th overall pick in the 2017 draft out of UCLA. He had 17.5 career sacks and 53 solo tackles in 49 games with Atlanta. The 25-year-old didn't play a single game for Cincinnati.

The Bengals took a chance on McKinley since they traded Carlos Dunlap to the Seattle Seahawks. Unfortunately for Cincinnati, McKinley couldn't even pass his physical, a sign that he's not taking care of his body properly.

Another team could take a chance on McKinley if he's able to get his body in order. It's going to be interesting to see if that happens.

After losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10 on the road, the Bengals are now 2-6-1 on the season. They will miss the playoffs in the first year of the Joe Burrow era, which was to be expected. The 2020 No. 1 overall pick has thrown for 2,485 yards on the season. Burrow also has 12 touchdowns and five interceptions.

The Bengals will take on the Washington Football Team in Week 11.
