The Cincinnati Bengals' offensive line was not good this past season. As a matter of fact, Pro Football Focus ranked it 27th in the NFL in 2018, which reflects the Bengals ranking 26th in the league in total offense overall.

But to be fair, Cincinnati had some injuries along the line, and now that it is healthy, new Bengals head coach Zac Taylor insists that the unit will be better in 2019:

“Cordy (Glenn) can move back to left tackle which is where he’s played his whole career. We have a lot of confidence in him there,” Taylor said, according to Tyler Dragon of The Cincinnati Enquirer. “It’s unfortunate to lose guys in their rookie year. He had high expectations for himself. But we’ll be good.”

Glenn had to play left guard in 2018 due to a season-ending shoulder injury to rookie Jonah Williams.

As for who will end up manning the left guard slot this coming season? Taylor says the team has options:

“We have a lot of guys in there that can compete for those jobs,” Taylor said. “The left guard spot will be a competition in training camp and we’ll be excited to see what happens there. We have a lot of good guys in the mix who we are counting on to step up and do their job. [Christian] Westerman is in there, we just signed John Jerry [and] Trey Hopkins is in there as well. A lot of guys who can get in there and compete.”

I guess the line can't be much worse than it was in 2018, so there probably isn't anywhere to go but up.
