The Cincinnati Bengals came up short once again versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. They are now holding out hope that reinforcements could be on the way in the form of wide receiver A.J. Green in Week 8.

Green is seemingly on the verge of making his return from an ankle injury. Head coach Zac Taylor is not ruling out the possibility of him making his 2019 NFL season debut against the Los Angeles Rams, via Geoff Hobson of the team's official website:

Zac says he won’t rule Green playing this week, but he says he also won’t roll him out there until he practices full go and that is day-to-day

There has been plenty of speculation regarding whether or not Green would even make his return for a Bengals team that is still looking for its first win of the season heading into Week 8. Regardless, Taylor's comments indicate that their 0-7 start will not determine his playing status.

There were also reports that Cincinnati would not play Green until after the trade deadline in an effort to dispel any rumors that he may be on the move. However, Taylor's desire to potentially have him play this week raises further questions about his uncertain future at this time.

If the Bengals are looking to move A.J. Green, this would be their last chance for them to show that he still has some value on the market before the trade deadline. Then again, a matchup with cornerback Jalen Ramsey coming off injury is hardly an ideal time to try and prove his worth.
