In a bit of a surprising move on Monday morning, the Cleveland Browns made the decision to trade former first-round pick wide receiver Corey Coleman to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a 2020 seventh-round pick.

It has given Coleman a new start and an opportunity to showcase his ability with the Bills, which he has already taken to Instagram to post a video of his practice jersey with a clear personal motivational message.

Through his first two seasons in the league, Coleman struggled to stay on the field missing 13 games due to injury. He was limited to just nine games in the 2017 season due to a broken hand that required hand surgery where he recorded 23 catches on 56 targets for 305 receiving yards and two touchdowns. In his rookie campaign, he had also suffered a broken hand that forced him to miss six games.

The 24-year-old has shown flashes of promise throughout his brief career, but it has been his inability to stay healthy as a pair of broken hand injuries have cost him significant playing time. It is likely one of the reasons that the franchise has decided to move on from him after only two seasons in a deal for essentially nothing. Following his departure, the Browns will likely lean on both Jarvis Landry and Josh Gordon to be the primary targets in the passing game next season.

Coleman has a chance to secure a significant role in the passing game in his first year with Buffalo next to Kelvin Benjamin to help form a dynamic duo that whoever the team decides to go with as their starter can heavily depend on. He has the big-play ability that includes being a huge down-the-field asset behind his speed. It is simply on his shoulders now to finally break through to showcase what made him a first-round talent in the 2015 NFL Draft.
