The NFL playoffs has delivered in a big way this season. Nearly every game was a nail-biter, with most games coming down to the wire. The best game out of these playoffs, of course, was the titanic showdown between Josh Allen's Buffalo Bills and Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs would win the game in question in overtime, when they scored a touchdown in the opening drive of overtime. This anti-climactic end has brought into question the NFL's current overtime rules. A few weeks after their heartbreaking loss, Bills WR Gabriel Davis spoke out regarding these overtime rules in an appearance on The Richard Sherman Podcast. (via PFF)

Gabriel Davis' frustrations regarding these overtime rules are understandable. The Bills star had the greatest wide receiver performance in postseason history against the Chiefs, scoring a record four touchdowns in that game. However, the offense was not able to see the field after regulation, as they lost the coin toss.

Many NFL fans immediately reacted to this heartbreaking loss, saying that the Bills were shafted by the league's overtime rules. Many were clamoring for the NFL to change their rules. However, the following week, the Cincinnati Bengals overcame losing the coin toss and picked off Mahomes in the opening drive, setting up a game-winning kick from Evan McPherson.

So, should the NFL change their overtime rules after this season? Bills Mafia (along with their players) certainly think so. However, football is a team game. Cincinnati's defensive stand in their overtime game against the same Chiefs team proves that winning the coin toss isn't an automatic game decider. The NFL will likely look into this in the offseason, but nothing will likely change.
