Brandon Beane, the general manager of the Buffalo Bills, understands that the team has to utilize their cap space correctly in the coming seasons. While making an appearance on WGR-550 AM, a local radio show in Buffalo, Beane spoke about the possibility of extending Tre'Davious White.

“We definitely evaluate all of our upcoming guys that will have a year left and decide if we can take a shot at them,” Beane told co-hosts Howard Simon and Sal Capaccio. “We’ll definitely look to re-sign some of them and see if we can figure out the value, but again, it takes two to get a deal done.”

Heading into the 2020 season, White is entering the final year of his rookie contract. After being drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, White has evolved into one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.

In his first three seasons, White has accumulated 181 tackles, 43 deflections, and 12 interceptions. Just this past season, the LSU product recorded a career-high six interceptions and 17 deflections. As a result, he was named to his first Pro Bowl and was an All-Pro for the first time in his career.

Without a doubt, Beane understands how crucial White is to the Bills' future on defense. However, there are factors that go into getting an extension done with a player like White.

As free agency looms, it appears that Byron Jones and James Bradberry could reset the cornerback market. Not to mention that Jalen Ramsey is also waiting for an extension from the Los Angeles Rams. Therefore, despite the Bills having plenty of cap space, it could be quite some time before White chooses to sign an extension in Buffalo.
