The Buffalo Bills are hoping to maintain their flawless start to the 2019 NFL season at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. Unfortunately, it appears they will be without tight end Tyler Kroft once again in Week 3.

Kroft is slated to miss this game after suffering a sprained ankle at practice. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the Bills are looking to have him back by Week 4:

Bills TE Tyler Kroft, who injured his ankle in practice Thursday, is not playing this weekend. But source said the low-ankle sprain does leave him a chance to make his season debut next week.

The timing of the injury is hardly ideal for Kroft. He still has yet to make his Bills' debut after signing a three-year, $18.75 million contract this offseason. He then spent training camp and the preseason recovering from a broken foot he suffered on the first day of organized team activities.

The recent ankle injury was just the latest in a rough start to the year for Kroft. Fortunately, it is not deemed to be too serious since the Bills are expecting him to be back for their showdown with the New England Patriots in Week 4.

Tyler Kroft is not the only notable player on offense slated to miss against the Bengals. Running back Devin Singletary will have to put his promising start to the season on hold due to an ankle injury. Their absence will further put the onus on quarterback Josh Allen to kick his play up a notch against the Bengals.
