Facing elimination, Rodney Hood of the Portland Trail Blazers popped in 25 points in a Game 6 win over the Denver Nuggets. He has exceeded his entire 2018 postseason scoring output.

Per Kevin Pelton of ESPN, Rodney Hood played a total of 17 playoff games last year when he was a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He tallied 91 points. This postseason, he already has a total of 97 points in the Western Conference semifinals through six games.

Against the Denver Nuggets, Hood — the 23rd overall pick in 2014 — is averaging 16.2 points per game, 62.4 percent from the field and 58.3 percent from the 3-point line across 25.2 minutes. For the whole playoffs, he's logging in 8.8 points per game and 47 percent shooting from the field. His Game 6 performance is his best game yet. It came at a perfect time, when his team was just a loss away from being sent home.

Hood has been a revelation thus far in his first year under head coach Terry Stotts. In his first few years in the league, he already proved that he's a capable offensive player — an automatic 10-15 points per night. But in his short stint with the Cavaliers, he seemed out of sync with the rest of the team, putting up below-average numbers by his standards.

Now with the Trail Blazers, the 26-year-old has managed to rejuvenate his young career. He has given his team one more life and is one of the critical pieces of the squad. Hopefully, Rodney Hood can offer more in Game 7, when everything the Blazers have worked hard for is at stake.
