The St. Louis Blues are north of the border to take on the Winnipeg Jets Tuesday night. This game will continue our NHL odds series as we hand out a Blues-Jets prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the game.

The Blues are 2-1-1 to begin the season. Only two skaters on their team have scored three points. The rest of them are below that number. Brandon Saad leads the team with two goals, and he is the only person with more than one. Robert Thomas is first on the team with three assists. This game will mark the start of a four-game road trip for the Blues.

The Jets are 2-3-0 to begin this season, but they are coming off a solid win against the Edmonton Oilers. Mark Scheifele, and Josh Morrissey lead the team with six points each. Scheifele is the goal scorer while Morrissey is the assist man. Kyle Connor has five points, which is second on the team. Winnipeg as a team puts up 3.20 goals per game.

Jordan Binnington is expected to be in net for the Blues. Connor Hellebuyck is expected to be the starting goalie for the Jets.

Why The Blues Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Blues are not doing a good job scoring the puck this season, but the Jets are doing an even worse job keeping it out of the net. St. Louis takes less than 25 shots per game, which could explain their low scoring. The Jets allow 4.20 goals per game, and they have given up at least five goals in three of their five games. Hellebuyck allows 4.38 goals per game himself. The Blues have a good chance to put up some goals in this game, they just need to take their shots. If they do that, St. Louis will cover this spread.

The Blues have a very good goalie in net for this game. Jordan Binnington is one of the best in the league, and he has shown it this season. He has allowed just 1.26 goals per game, and his save percentage is .959. The Jets are decent in the offensive zone, but it is very hard to score on Binnington. He alone can help the Blues cover the spread.

Why The Jets Will Cover The Spread/Win

As mentioned, Winnipeg struggles to keep other teams from scoring. However, the Blues score just 2.00 goals per game. That is not nearly enough to win games, and it makes it very hard to cover a spread. Yes, Hellebuyck is struggling, but the Blues do not take many shots, and they do not score many goals. This is reason enough for the Jets to cover the spread.

Final Blues-Jets Prediction & Pick

Because of Binnington, and the Jets lack of pressure in the defensive zone, I like the Blues in this game. They should be able to keep this game within a goal, and cover the spread. I do not think there will be many goals scored in this game, which is another reason this game will end closely.

Final Blues-Jets Prediction & Pick: Blues +1.5 (-160), Under 6.5 (-128)
