Brian Stann has been away from MMA since 2017 but he was back in the news after he successfully predicted the rise of Khamzat Chimaev years ago. He recently spoke about the Swedish fighter and gave him some career advice after his big win at UFC 273.

Brian Stann spoke about Khamzat Chimaev recently on The MMA Hour. The former UFC fighter had some advice for both the fighter and his manager following the big win.

“I think at this point, it would make sense, if I’m managing him – Hey, don’t be in such a rush because the reward is Kamaru Usman. And if you wanna try and beat that monster, you’ve gotta hope that he’s getting real comfortable, and making a lot of money, and wearing all the name brands, and not training as hard. Because, athletically and mentally right now, Kamaru Usman could be the best fighter on the planet.”

Many are calling for Khamzat Chimaev to face Kamaru Usman next but Brian Stann isn't so sure it's a good idea. The UFC welterweight is still young in his career and is gaining experience.

“I don’t know that he’s ready and can smash Kamaru. I don’t believe he can smash Kamaru like he might say. He has to think that way. But there’s nobody walking in the octagon and just walking through Kamaru. Not gonna happen.”

Kamaru Usman is one of the best fighters in the UFC and his reign as champion is very impressive. Khamzat Chimaev is expected to fight Colby Covington next with a title shot planned if he wins.
