Over the past few seasons, the Denver Broncos have quietly assembled a rather solid roster. Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports ranked the Broncos as having the 11th best roster in the league. While the win-loss record has been less than ideal as of late for the Broncos, there are still some potential hidden gems who could potentially help the team get back into the win column.

Broncos Hidden Gems on 2022 Roster

Tim Patrick – Wide Reciever

Tim Patrick has been one of Denver's top two receivers over the past couple of seasons. Despite having a carousel of quarterbacks throwing him the rock since he joined the team in 2017, Patrick has managed to put up consistently solid stats.

After going undrafted in 2017, Patrick bounced around on both the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers practice squads. He was signed to the Broncos practice squad in 2017, was released, then re-signed again. He made the Broncos' final roster and signed a futures contract with the team in 2018. It didn't take long for Patrick to showcase his talent. To date, Patrick has accumulated 2,009 receiving yards, 12 touchdowns, and averaged 13.9 yards per catch.

During the 2021 season, Patrick put on a show against the Dallas Cowboys. The Broncos had little to no offensive identity at the time, but Patrick helped the team go into Dallas and upset the Cowboys, 30-16. Patrick was seen consistently torching the league's best cornerback that season, Trevon Diggs.

With the acquisition of quarterback Russell Wilson, Patrick will finally have an elite quarterback throwing him the ball. The offense also touts other standout receivers in Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy. Opposing teams may find themselves focusing on Sutton and Jeudy, which could leave open some great opportunities for Patrick. There is a big chance that Patrick is poised for a monster 2022 season.

Quinn Meinerz – Offensive Lineman

Seems a bit odd to put an offensive lineman on a list about hidden gems, right? Believe it or not, this is not a mistake. Being an offensive lineman can be a thankless job, but an offense is only as good as its offensive line allows. If an offensive line underperforms, the offense will stutter and struggle around it.

Meinerz was drafted by the Broncos in the third round of the 2021 draft out of Division III school Wisconsin-Whitewater. Meinerz really caught the eye of the Broncos during his dominant Senior Bowl performance. After being drafted, Meinerz quickly became a fan favorite and was given the nickname “The Belly” because of how he chooses to wear his practice jersey above his stomach.

In his rookie season, Meinerz played in 15 of the 17 total games in the season. Due to injuries to his linemates, Meinerz was named a starter after week nine. After being thrown into a starting role early in his career, Meinerz showed some serious promise and hustle. PFF gave Meinerz a rather good grade of 67.4 for his 2021 season. If Meinerz can continue to improve in 2022, he could easily become a starting staple along the Broncos' offensive line in due time. Regarding the upcoming season, having Meinerz somewhere on the line during the season will definitely help bolster the run and pass offense.
