The addition of quarterback Case Keenum has brought a newfound sense of optimism for the Denver Broncos going into the 2018 NFL season. Wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders are at the forefront of this excitement.

Thomas and Sanders have been one of the most talented duos in the league for the lasts several years. According to Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic, the latter credits their unselfish nature to their massive success:

“I just think it’s awesome what we’ve been able to accomplish,” Sanders said. “It was really through no hate, no jealousy, all love. We really are a tandem. We work well together. I’ve played with different wide receivers and I know what we got is definitely special.”

Thomas doubled down on Sanders' comments and was not shy about their future goals.

“That’s big to say,” Thomas said. “A lot of people don’t pay attention to it, but … we push each other. We stay on top of each other in the offseason, make sure we’re healthy for the season. (We) do the right thing. We’re trying to be one of the best duos that’s ever done it.”

Their tenure together got off to a tremendous start after Sanders signed with Denver prior to the 2014 NFL season. Quarterback Peyton Manning was able to maximize their talents, and it resulted in stellar numbers over the next two seasons. However, their production started to dip following his retirement due to injuries and shaky quarterback play. Even Thomas recently revealed that these factors resulted in him seriously contemplating retirement.

However, it appears the two are ready for a comeback in the 2018 NFL season. Despite a tumultuous 2017 campaign, there is still no question about their legitimacy as one of the best one-two punches in the NFL. Thomas and Sanders will have a chance to re-stale their claim as such with Keenum now under center.
