The Denver Broncos made a huge splash in trading for Russell Wilson this offseason, and now they're hard at work trying to formulate an offense best-tailored to their new superstar quarterback. New head coach Nathaniel Hackett will be starting his tenure in Denver alongside Wilson, and he revealed he has some big plans for how to get the star QB off to a hot start in the Mile High City. Per Mike Klis, Hackett said Sunday that the offense will be built around Russ' strengths and “what Russell likes to do.”

Hackett's comments came on the heels of reports that Wilson was frustrated in Seattle because he didn't have enough say in the offense. Hackett is ensuring that won't be an issue in Denver, going as far as to say the team plans to build the offense around Wilson.

“Once we get to know him, understand him, we'll build [the offense] around him. So what is it going to be? It's going to be what Russell likes to do,” said Hackett.

After utilizing both Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater last season, Wilson will represent a massive upgrade for the team at quarterback. Hackett has experience working alongside top arms, having served as an assistant for the Packers alongside Aaron Rodgers, so he should have no trouble figuring out what works best with Denver's newest star.

After a 7-10 season in 2021, the Broncos are hopeful to reach the Super Bowl in 2022. Getting Wilson firing early will be critical towards that goal, and Hackett seemingly has no doubts about setting up an offense tailored to Russ.
