The Denver Broncos quarterback situation this offseason has been all over the map. It started when they acquired Teddy Bridgewater early on in the offseason. Many then speculated the Broncos would still take a quarterback early in the NFL draft, they did not.

After that, the Aaron Rodgers circus in Green Bay started and the one team constantly being linked if a trade were ever to happen was the Broncos. On Tuesday, Rodgers made his way back to the Packers after coming to compromise with the front office. Now, Denver is staring at Drew Lock and Bridgewater.

Lock started last year and struggled throughout a lot of the season. Bridgewater will be in his first year in Denver and struggled in Carolina in 2020. Lock spoke out on Wednesday, via Troy Renck of Denver7 KMGH, about the quarterback battle for the Broncos starting gig.

“If anything, I’d say it’s motivating,” Lock said of the competition on Wednesday, via Troy Renck of Denver7 KMGH. “Everyone talks about staying focused, controlling what you can control. My idea is just come out with high energy every single day. Focus on me, make the plays when they come to me when I’m in there, and congratulate Teddy when he makes a good play. And we’ll talk about when I make a bad play or when he makes a bad play.”

It may not be the quarterback battle Broncos fans envisioned or wanted but it'll be Lock against Bridgewater to see who starts Week 1 for Denver.
